Nursery and Reception classes enjoyed a learning visit to South Street Green Grocers and South Street Ice Cream café. The looked at, touched and tasted some of the fruits and vegetables and were surprised to find that broad beans felt ‘velvety’ and that lychees felt ‘spiky’. The Green Grocer cut up a watermelon in front of the children and they were delighted to see how it looked inside! We bought some strawberries to try and a cucumber for the guinea pigs. We then each had a free ice cream from the ice cream café, choosing from a range of flavours from blue banana to Malteaser. Please take time to support these fantastic local businesses, right on our doorstep!
