I do hope that you and your families are in good health. Thank you for all of your support over the last few weeks and we do hope that you are beginning to settle into a home learning routine. The work that teachers have provided will be being reviewed over the Easter break so that we can make this as useful as we can to you and the children. The plan is to try and ensure we can be as interactive as is possible given the restrictions that exist working virtually. We will of course keep you up to date with any new developments. Mrs Finch and Mrs Hurn have been working on a new plan with teachers over the last week. Further information about this will be sent out over the next week.
The Easter holidays begin on Friday 3rd of April. This does mean that no work will be set during the two weeks 3rd to 17th April. Work will be posted again on line from Monday 20th of April for all classes. Keeping the children entertained during the Easter break will be no easy task for any of us, but if you are able too, do try and keep with a routine as it will be so much easier to manage the children coming back into learning after the break. The weather is getting warmer and with us all allowed to do some daily exercise still, I am sure you will take advantage of this.
Over the last two weeks we have been working very closely with local schools within the local authority and most are running in a similar way to ours. The local authority are keen to move to ‘hubs’ of schools who can support children of key worker families and we are working closely with Ivybridge school to support any family who might need this support. Although, our school is now closed to all children, we continue to work with some of our more vulnerable families remotely on a weekly basis, and FSM vouchers continue to be provided for all of those families who receive these. Help is available for anyone who needs it. If you feel that you are struggling to manage at home and would benefit from having contact with a member of school staff, please do let us know by emailing the school on email@example.com
We do check our emails daily and will continue to be available if you do need support. If it’s any consolation, all of our parenting powers are being tested at this time, even those who are used to teaching other peoples child! Stick with it, none of us are perfect! And please don’t berate yourself if things aren’t going as planned, try again another day.
We will continue to post information on our website regarding any changes or new developments across the school and will use our ‘@Worple purple’ twitter account to showcase any work that the children send in. Please let us know what you are up too so that we can keep our twitter feed very much alive within our fantastic community.
I know this isn’t the Easter break that any of us would have planned for, but our own health and well being is critical at this time. Please continue to stay safe and stay home. The Easter bunnies may have to work overtime this year, and if it means a little more chocolate for everyone….let’s let it be! Wishing you all a peaceful Easter break
Thinking of you all at this challenging time
