Washing Hands – Covid-19
This week we shared the following video with the children from the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-51722269/coronavirus-how-do-i-protect-myself
The main points raised in the film were:
For most people who catch Corona-virus it will be mild. Those at most risk are the elderly and those with underlying health conditions such as asthma.
- Wash your hands more – washing hands should be for at least 20 seconds
- Avoid touching eyes, nose & mouth – this is obviously easier said than done but we should all try to avoid touching these areas where possible
- Catch coughs and sneezes – at school we have increased our supply of tissues but it would be really helpful if every child could come to school prepared with a pack of disposable tissues; if tissues aren’t to hand then cough or sneeze into the crook of the elbow
- Stay away from people who are ill – if you have been in contact with anyone with the corona-virus or visited one of the affected areas then please follow NHS 111 advice regarding self-isolation
Finally please reassure your children, as we have, that if they follow the advice the chances of catching the illness are very small indeed.
